Google App Engine: An Overview

App Engine enables developers to build massively scalable web applications on Google's hardware and software infrastructure. During this talk, we'll explain what App Engine is and how it uses Bigtable and other Google technologies to make launching and scaling web apps easy.

Bio

Pete Koomen has worked on Google App Engine since September 2007, at which point he also converted to Python. He joined Google in 2006 after earning a masters in theoretical computer science at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University. While in school he conducted research in neural modeling, natural language processing, and computational theory.
