<head> 2008 may be over but the experience continues with recordings from the event. <head> 2008 attendees can now access the recordings from the schedule and London hub pages after signing in.

We are also working on staging the sessions that we had issues with again. We will email you as we confirm dates for those so that you can attend them live.

Head web conference pre-party in Second Life: you're all invited!

We're having a pre-party bash for the <head> web conference in Second Life in about an hour. It's going to last for about three hours and you're all invited (you don't have to be attending the conference to attend the pre-party!)

We will be on hand to give you an introduction to Second Life, the <head> hub, and you might even get to see some of the speakers there.

Local conference hub signups will begin on Monday, October 20th, 2008

Signups for the local conference hubs in London, Brighton, Manchester, Switzerland, and San Francisco will being at 16:00 BST (17:00 CEST, 08:00 PDT). Space at the hubs is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. You must have be a ticket-holder to reserve your place at a local conference hub.

Head web conference schedule released!

We've just released the schedule of talks for the <head> web conference.

Localize the schedule for your own timezone in a single click using our nifty little location picker, or, if you know the Olson name of your timezone, you can simply hack the URL: e.g., schedule for New York, London, Paris, Sydney, Istanbul, and Singapore).

Don't worry if you cannot make it to any of the sessions as we are going to be recording all of them. You don't need to miss anything!

We will be shuffling some sessions around and adding to the schedule in the next few days so make sure you check back before the conference for the final version.

Call for sponsors for the local <head> conference hub in London

Tim O’Reilly (founder/CEO of O’Reilly Media), Richard Moross (founder/CEO of moo.com), Gavin Starks (founder/CEO of AMEE), Paul Boag (Boagworld podcast), and Jeremy Keith of ClearLeft are just some of the speakers appearing live at our London conference hub which will take place on October 24th and the wonderful Magic Circle in Euston. Final list of <head> conference hubs announced

We've just announced the final list of local conference hubs for the <head> web conference. The list includes hubs in the UK (London, Brighton, and Manchester), Belgium, Switzerland and San Francisco. Space at the hubs is limited and reservations for ticket-holders will begin on Monday, October 13th. Follow the <head> Twitter channel to be notified when the reserveation system goes live.

Introducing the <head> Qik channel and Meebo chat

We've added Qik and Meebo sections to the site. Keep in touch with other attendees by posting videos and watching videos from the various hubs on our Qik channel. Talk to other attendees in the backchannel using the Meebo widget on the site.

<head>s up: Singularity Web Conference becomes <head>

<head>line news: the Singularity Web Conference is now <head>™.

So you don't think that we're out of our <head>s for <head>ing in such a radically new direction just two months before the conference, know that we didn't take the decision lightly.

You see, we came <head> to <head> with a company called Singularity Limited when their lawyers sent us a letter stating that they had registered Singularity as a trademark for, among other things, conferences. Although it doesn't appear that Singularity Limited currently runs any conferences, we decided to keep our <head>s and proactively change the name of the conference to <head> off a potentially lengthy, complicated, and costly legal conversation.

Once we took the decision to change the name at the end of last week, we launched <head> first into a rebranding effort and made great <head>way, completing the process in just over two days.

We're <head> over heels in love with our new name and our new look (Alvin was especially ecstatic when he saw the new site) and we hope that you will be too.

In the midst of all these changes, we thought that a little stability would be good to have so we're keeping one thing the same: the price. We're extending the early-bird discount until the end of September, so tell your friends — blog, vlog, tweet — and let the world know that tickets can still be had for $99.

And just how are preparations for the conference itself coming along? It's full steam a<head> at conference <head>quarters, with daily announcements of excellent new speakers and sessions.
